LAYCOCK, EDNA MAY: We are saddened to announce the passing of Edna May Laycock (nee Sweett) on Friday February 15, 2013 at Village by the Station in Penticton, BC following a short illness. Edna was born on December 23, 1927 in Brantford, Ontario. She is survived by her daughters Robin Laycock of Penticton; Holly Winter of Vancouver, and Meredith (Mitzi McFarlane) Laycock of Vancouver, her granddaughter Melissa Winters of Whitehorse, Yukon, and close friends Mike and Cari Stadnyk and their sons Matt and Tristan. She was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) and her son Michael (Chael). During the last weeks of her life she took great comfort from the thought of her husband and her son spending their days at a heavenly fishing hole catching fish and enjoying each other's companionship. It comforts us to think of her sitting in her rocking chair by the fishing hole, under her favourite red maple tree, reading and knitting and watching her men fish. We miss you too much already, Mom. Love you! A memorial will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013 in the Chapel at Village by the Station at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Good Samaritan Society, 270 Hastings Ave., Penticton, BC V2A 2V6. Please specify that your donation go to "Village by the Station".
