CHAMBERLAIN, ADELA LINNEA It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Adela Linnea Chamberlain, (nee Carlson), aged 91 years, on June 6, 2013 at Westview Place with family at her side. She is survived by her five children, seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one brother. She was predeceased by her infant sister Ruth, grandson Ken, and husband Kenneth. She was born on the family farm in Vesper, Saskatchewan July 20, 1921 to parents Hulda and Evert Carlson. She and her husband lived in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan before moving to Penticton in 1980. They were actively involved with the Bows and Petticoats Teen Square Dance Club. Mom's greatest joy was her family and she kept in contact with them by phone, e-mail and Skype. At age 80 she mastered computer skills which she said opened up a whole new world for her. She enjoyed traveling with family, activities at the Winnipeg Street Seniors Centre, and the birthday lunches with friends from her square dance days. She will be remembered by family and friends as a fun loving, generous person with a wonderful sense of fashion. The family wishes to thank all the staff of Westview Place North for meeting all of mom's care needs with understanding, kindness and compassion. The family asks her friends to join them in a celebration of her life to be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Parkview Funeral Home, 1258 Main Street, Penticton, British Columbia at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Adela's name may be made to Westview Place North, Activity Department.
